What do I need to do to register with
Celebration Splash?
|
|
|
Each family needs to complete a
registration packet to register their
swimmer(s) with the team. The
packet includes:
a Registration information form
a Florida Swimming Registration form
a Code of Conduct
an Apparel form
a copy of your swimmer's Birth
Certificate
Turn your completed forms into the
registrar along with a check for $125,
which includes the Florida Swimming and
USA Swimming fee.
Celebration Splash re-registers current
families in the fall for the current
school year. Swimmers who first
registered with the team during the
current calendar year will pay a
prorated fee when re-registering.
Your monthly bill will reflect the
appropriate renewal fee for
re-registering. The team electronically
forwards the re-registration information
to Florida Swimming after all the fees
are paid, and after all forms are
complete.

|
|
What does the registration fee cover?
|
|
|
A portion of the registration fee paid
to Celebration Splash is sent to Florida
Swimming along with your swimmer's birth
certificate. This pays for
membership in USA/Florida. Your swimmer
will receive a subscription to the USA
Swimming magazine, “Splash.”
Your swimmer also is covered
under the liability insurance that is
provided by
USA
swimming once he or she is registered.
The remaining portion of the fee remains
with the team and is used to purchase
team shirts, caps, and to pay for relays
throughout the year. Each swimmer
will get a shirt and one silicone caps
when the registration fee has been paid
in full. Other shirts and caps may
be given out during the championship
seasons, and other times as the team
designates. If your swimmer needs
additional caps, other than the one
provided at registration, you may
purchase more by filling out an apparel
form and including it with your monthly
payment for coaching fees.

Why do we have to re-register in the
fall?
|
|
|
Historically, Celebration Splash begins
the re-registration process each
September. It's back-to-school
time, a good time to renew.
Generally we don't attend a swim meet in
August, so there aren't any meet fees on
your bill and that helps even out your
billing charges.
The renewal
registration fee needs to be paid by
November so that we can forward your
swimmer's information to Florida
Swimming before the end of November.
As we get further into the fall, we get
closer to the holiday seasons and
families have more travel trips, more
swim meets, and other expenses (holiday
shopping!). So, we bill early for
the fee and allow you to pay it when you
can during September, October, or
November.

My
USA
Swimming cards says my registration is
good through December 31 -- why must I
register now?
|
|
|
You don't have to register now, but this
is the time of year when our volunteers
have more time to do all the work that
is involved in registration. Each
person's record in our database needs to
be checked and verified by our families
and corrections made. Each
swimmer's registration is forwarded
electronically to Florida Swimming,
which sounds like it should be easy.
In general it is, but the details take a
tremendous amount of time.
Most families do not have the time to do
this later in the fall when we they are
preparing for the holidays. So it is
helpful for everyone to begin the
process at the beginning of the school
year.

|
|
|
|
When will my swimmer get his/her shirt
and cap?
|
|
|
Shirts and caps will be given out once
the registration fee is paid in full.
|
|
|
|
|
What happens if I don't register until
later?
|
|
|
Anyone who has not re-registered before
the end of the year will become
unattached from our team, and will not
be able to practice with Celebration
Splash or swim in a meet. Failure
to be registered before participating in
our program, or before swimming in a
meet results in Florida Swimming
assessing the swimmer a $25 fine.
Remember, that it takes some time to
process the paperwork and forward
everything to Florida Swimming, and to
give them a chance to complete the
process. We want our families to
have some time to get their fees paid,
and still give our volunteers enough
time to get everything squared with
Florida Swimming.

|
I'm on scholarship. Do I have to
pay the full fee?
|
|
|
Yes. The scholarship pertains only
to the coaching fee portion of your
bill. Since the registration fee
is not an optional fee, and is not a
fund-raiser for the team, everyone must
pay.
|
|
|
|
|
What happens if a swimmer joins the team
later in the year?
|
|
|
The registration fee for swimmers who
join the team in the spring or summer
remains the same that everyone pays.
However, when it comes time to
renew your registration in the fall, you
will only be charged a
prorated
fee to reflect the fact that the swimmer
join during the mid-year.
We are required to have each swimmer
registered with Florida Swimming and so
we must always pay the Florida Swimming
fee for the current calendar year no
matter when the swimmer joins.
